Big News: Baltimore County Council members fighting Kamenetz “sanctuary” order

I have big news to report this week.

Several Baltimore County Council members announced Tuesday plans to fight Executive Kevin Kamenetz’s “sanctuary county” executive order with counter measures of their own.

Council Members Todd Crandell (R-Dundalk), David Marks (R-Perry Hall), and Wade Kach (R-Hereford) will introduce legislation that will untie the hands of law enforcement so that they can do their job.

Councilman Todd Crandell who is leading the effort said:

“What this would do is basically send a message that, if you are in this country illegally and convicted of a crime and sentenced to incarceration at the Baltimore County Detention Center, that you would be subject to federal immigration statutes.”

It’s a shame that our elected representatives even have to introduce a bill like this, you would think enforcing the law on lawbreakers would be a no-brainer?

But when we have politicians like Kevin Kamenetz who care more about illegal aliens than they do about Maryland citizens it demands that we take action.

It was announced that on May 1st these new proposals will be introduced at the Baltimore County Council meeting.

Maryland Campaign for Liberty will be there to deliver your petitions to your County Council member so that they know we DEMAND action from them on fighting Kevin Kamenetz’s “sanctuary” order.

Please share our petition with everyone you know so that Maryland DOES NOT become a “sanctuary state.”

Click here for the link to our petition.

We have defeated efforts to make Howard County a “sanctuary county” and just recently sunk efforts in the Maryland General Assembly to make Maryland a “sanctuary state.”

Your work thus far has lead politicians like Alan Kittleman, who was shocked at the outpouring of opposition to the Howard County “sanctuary” bill, to say:

“I have not seen this type of response to legislation in my career.”

You are making the difference <<First Name>>.

But if we don’t double down here in Baltimore County I’m afraid the Open Borders Lobby will have a foothold to build from across Maryland.

In fact, if we don’t act in Baltimore County, they’ll have a rallying cry to re-introduce their bill to make Maryland a “sanctuary state” in the 2018 General Assembly.

I don’t want that to happen and I don’t think you do either.

Let’s act now while we still have time to fight for all Marylanders here in Baltimore County.

Here’s what you can do:

>>> Share our petition with friends and family, especially if they live in the Baltimore area.  The petition link is here.

>>> Chip in to our Protect Baltimore County from Kamenetz Fund.  We are committing to fighting Kamenetz’s terrible “sanctuary” order until he starts listening to the people he was elected to serve.

>>> Plan to attend the Baltimore County Council meeting happening May 1st.  The address for the meeting is 400 Washington Avenue, Towson, MD 21204.

>>> Volunteer for Maryland Campaign for Liberty.  If you would like to help with door knocking or writing or envelope stuffing — let us know!

P.S. Huge news was announced this week when three Baltimore County Council members committed to introducing proposals on May 1st to uphold the rule of law in Baltimore County.

It’s up to us to prepare and mobilize our friends and family to fight Kamenetz’s bad “sanctuary” order and support new legislation to UNTIE the hands of Baltimore County law enforcement when it comes to illegal aliens and undocumented criminals.
