Maryland Delegates and Senators,

Please vote NO on HB-388, the illegal immigration “Sanctuary State” bill.

Also please vote NO on HB-403/SB-903, the illegal immigration “Sanctuary Schools, Hospitals, and Courthouses” bill.

WHEREAS: Illegal immigrants are creating hardships on taxpaying citizens by using taxpayer funded resources, overcrowding schools, and saturating the jobs market; and

WHEREAS: So-called “Sanctuary” policies encourage more illegal immigration and create public safety concerns due to the difficulty in detaining and prosecuting undocumented aliens, including those who commit additional crimes; and

WHEREAS: A 2012 study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated that illegal immigration costs Maryland taxpayers $1.9 billion per year.

THEREFORE: We citizens of Maryland DEMAND that our local legislators vote down and repeal any legislation that attempts to make our state into a “Sanctuary” for illegal immigration.
