The backlash against revenue generating speed and red light cameras is gaining momentum.
And now a new champion has entered the fight.
State Senator Michael Hough has announced that he will be teaming up with Delegate Warren Miller and Maryland Campaign for Liberty. . .
. . . to cross file our red light and speed camera repeal bill in the Senate during this year’s Maryland General Assembly!
This is a huge step forward in protecting Maryland motorists from profit-hungry camera vendors and the politicians that want more of your money to feed ever-expanding government.
This couldn’t come at a better time, as we are STILL getting reports of innocent motorists being fined for infractions that they did not commit.
Just days ago, Fox 5 in Washington D.C. reported that a Maryland resident received three separate camera tickets over the holiday season.
All three of them were for different cars and none were cars that he owned!
Even worse, when the victim called the different jurisdictions that issued the tickets, he reported that “no one wanted to help.”
Many people would just give up and pay the fines.
Some would fight them to the bitter end – and would probably lose even more money due to lost wages from spending a day in court.
Either way, you lose.
Enough is Enough.
Let’s make 2016 the year we follow the lead of those states that have banned the use of speed and red light cameras.
Here are four easy ways you can help Delegate Miller, Senator Hough, and Maryland Campaign for Liberty achieve this goal:
- Click here to sign the petition
- Call and email your Delegates and Senators and tell them to cosponsor this legislation
- Chip in to help us reach more people
- Share this email with friends and family
The high paid lobbyists for the camera vendors will be pulling out all of the stops to protect their employer’s huge financial interests.
However, the politicians know the lobbyists are not the ones that determine the fate of their political careers.
That power is reserved for citizens like you.
This is why it is so important for you to take a few moments to contact your representative and show your support for speed and red light camera repeal.
The easiest way to find and contact your Delegates and Senators is to click here and enter your home address at the top of the screen.
Senators and Delegates in your district will be displayed on the left side of your screen.
Click on their names and you will see their phone numbers and email addresses, which can be used to contact them directly.
It’s simple and it only takes a few moments of your time.
And when you sign our petition to End the Camera Fraud in Maryland, we will deliver that petition to Annapolis during the Maryland General Assembly.
Imagine the huge impact that stacks of petitions opposing these cameras will have on the politicians who will be voting on this legislation.
Finally, operations to protect our liberty like these require funding.
Please consider chipping in whatever you can to specifically help us win this fight by reaching and mobilizing as many citizens as possible.
With Delegate Warren Miller’s sponsorship in the House and Senator Michael Hough’s sponsorship in the Senate, we are within striking distance. . .
. . . of getting a full repeal of the use of red light and speed cameras before they are spread to every location that is deemed to be financially lucrative for fining motorists.
Maryland Campaign for Liberty will continue to update you and inform you of important action you can take to ensure passage of this legislation.
As always, we thank you for your help and support.
