Dear Cecil County Council Member,
I’m contacting you because I’m aware that County Executive Alan McCarthy is proposing to once again set the property tax rate above constant yield, costing taxpayers like me a total of $2,300,000.00 in tax payments. Cecil County ended the fiscal year with a $7.5 million surplus which clearly demonstrates that there is absolutely no need for local government to continue to take more money out of my family’s budget. As an already over-taxed property owner, I demand that you vote against this latest McCarthy tax increase and instead adopt a tax rate that reflects constant yield.
